Data Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This Data Policy describes how gahm processes the data you put into the app — especially the photos you upload — and how automated AI is used. It supplements our Privacy Policy; defined terms have the same meaning.
1. What Data We Process
- Photos you upload of clothing you own.
- Garment cutouts generated from those photos.
- Photos of yourself (which may include your face and body) that you upload or capture for the virtual try-on feature.
- Item metadata (category, color, name) and the outfits you save.
- Account data (email, display name) and subscription status.
2. How AI Is Used
gahm uses automated AI, server-side, for two features:
- Garment cutouts — detecting the garments in a clothing photo and cutting each one out onto a transparent background.
- Virtual try-on — combining your own photo with a garment cutout into a preview image of you wearing that item.
To do this, the relevant images — for try-on, this includes the photo of yourself — are sent to OpenAI (via its image API) for processing. OpenAI acts as our service provider and processes the images solely to return the result to us. No AI keys or models run on your device for this step.
We send images only to provide these features to you. Images sent through OpenAI’s API are not used to train OpenAI’s models, and we do not use your photos to train any models of our own. We do not extract, generate, or store biometric identifiers, face templates, or facial geometry from your photos. OpenAI API inputs are governed by OpenAI’s API data-usage terms.
3. Where Data Is Stored
Your photos and cutouts are stored in private, per-user storage on Amazon Web Services (S3), scoped so that one user cannot access another user’s content. Storage is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (AES-256, S3 server-side encryption). Account and app data are stored in AWS (DynamoDB / Cognito). Data may be processed in countries including the United States and the Republic of Korea.
4. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
- We do not share your photos with anyone except the processors needed to provide the feature (see §2), under contract.
5. Retention & Deletion
We keep your closet content while your account is active. You can delete individual photos or items in the app at any time, or delete your entire account (Account menu → Delete account), which permanently removes your photos (including your try-on selfie), closet content, and saved outfits from our systems, subject to limited legal / security retention.
